Sales Knowledge Base
Definition
A searchable repository of approved product information, RFP answers, security questionnaires, demo scripts and competitive intel that SEs draw from to respond accurately and consistently across deals.
Trust is the whole asset
An SE who has once been burned by a stale answer stops using the library for anything that matters, and reverts to asking a colleague. Usage does not collapse loudly; it erodes, and the content keeps existing while nobody relies on it. Recovering trust afterwards is far harder than maintaining it.
Content ages at different rates
Security answers change when a control changes. Competitive content is wrong within a quarter. Product answers move with each release. A single review cadence applied to everything is either too slow for the fast-moving material or wasteful for the stable material — which is why ownership per content type beats a global refresh date.
Capture at the point of work
Libraries fed by a separate documentation task stay thin. Libraries that absorb answers as a by-product of responding to real deals stay current, because the work and the capture are the same action.
